Работа в США: Новая форма I-765 объединит процесс получения разрешения на работу и номера социального страхования
Работа в США для многих категорий иммигрантов начинается с подачи заявления в иммиграционную службу США (USCIS) по форме I-765. В октябре USCIS выпустила новую, улучшенную форму I-765, которая нацелена на оптимизацию процесса получения разрешения на работу в США (Work Authorization Document – EAD) и номера социального страхования (Social Security Number – SSN).
Новое соглашение между Департаментом Гражданства и Иммиграции США (USCIS) и Администрацией Социального Страхования (SSA) позволит иностранным гражданам, подпадающим под определенные категории, обращаться за получением разрешения на работу и выдачей номера социального страхования одновременно, с помощью формы I-765. Таким образом обновленная форма рационализирует процесс получения этих документов.
Для работы на законных основаниях в Соединенных Штатах многим категориям иностранных рабочих необходимо 2 документа. Первый – это разрешение на работу (EAD), который выдается USCIS. Второй – номер социального страхования (SSN), который выдается SSA. EAD служит документом, подтверждающим что заинтересованное лицо имеет право на работу в США в течение определенного периода времени, указанного в разрешении. SSN используется в целях уведомления государственных органов о размере заработной платы, а также для квалификации на получение пенсий и пособий.
Исторически форма I-765 использовалась исключительно в целях получения разрешения на работу, для чего заявители по почте отправляли форму в USCIS. Затем, необходимо было лично предоставить дополнительную документацию в офис социального страхования для получения SSN по месту жительства. Теперь все изменилось. Усовершенствованная форма I-765 включает в себя дополнительные вопросы, что в свою очередь делает возможным эффективный обмен информацией между USCIS и SSA. Этот процесс позволяет подать заявление на выдачу нового SSN и произвести замену прежней карты без физического посещения офиса SSA. Все это стало возможным в рамках получения EAD.
Обновленная форма I-765 уже вошла в действие. Ожидается, что новые заявители, получат карточку SSN в течении 2-х недель с момента одобрения по вопросу EAD.
